Mae Mayeux, Artist

South Louisiana provides inspiration for landscape paintings for Mae Mayeux.  She has been painting professionally since 1991, though painting has been a favorite hobby since she was very young. 

Her paintings and prints have been sold all over the world -- France, Belgium, Russia, Australia and Canada to name a few locations.  Mae has travelled to exhibit and sell her work in Martinique in the Carribean; Cambrai, France; and Namur, Belgium.

Mae enjoys painting landmarks that are special to people - she paints scenes that help people remember days gone by.  She loves color and many of her scenes contain beautiful skys portraying those times of the day just before sunrise, or just after sunset when the sky is most beautiful.

Her attention to detail, combined with a bit of whimsy here and there have earned her a unique style all her own, and her style has been described as "whimsical realism".
